In this podcast, we take you into Breda's past. We go way back in time to arrive at the roots of our royal house, which originated here. The podcast is about Het Speelhuis (the playhouse), which came to life through 4 half-brothers.
The overachiever
Episode one is about Maurits van Oranje. Labeled by us as "the overachiever". Why? Because he suffered from a thirst for proof. Why? Without saying we know for sure, we almost dare say for sure that it was (partly due to) his disowned mother. After all, don't you inherit your parents' traumas? A good question for your next visit to the psychologist...
The Turfship
Where you might also know the name of Maurits van Oranje from? He was the Mastermind behind "The Turfship of Breda". A genius warrior. Today he would beat you 100% in a game of Risk.
Het Speelhuis
He eventually commissioned the completion of the Speelhuis (playhouse) after inheriting the plans from his brother. More on that in the next episode....
